We have a pit, around the soil, which washes away after the rains. What kind of road and site do you need to prepare so that your 100-130 ton truck crane can lower equipment into the pit?

Answer :

As with any truck, a truck crane needs a dense road with a width of at least 3.5 meters. It should also be borne in mind that a 100 ton truck crane has 4 axles and weighs 48 tonnes, and a 130 ton truck crane has 5 axles and weighs 60 tonnes (12 tonnes load on each axle), so the dirt road must be filled with ASG (sand and gravel mixture), either with crushed stone of fraction 20-40, or with a brick fight, or with a concrete strike, it is planned and compacted thoroughly using a soil vibratory roller, weighing at least 12 tons.

If there are road or airfield slabs, the road should be covered with sand sufficient for leveling in a layer, then plan and lay the slabs. When using slabs 2P30-18-10 (30), 3 x 1.75 x 0.18 m in size, one lane of road should be made, 4 m wide: 1.75 - indent 0.5 - 1.75 m.

The site should be prepared similarly to the road, taking into account the placement of the truck crane and the truck with its counterweights: 20m x 14m or more. The site should begin at a distance from the edge of the pit equal to its depth plus 1 meter. It is also advisable to make a return road from the site or a U-turn with a return to the main road so that the trawl or scow does not have to go in reverse.

If your equipment is planned to be delivered by car, then it should be noted that the first to enter the site and install the supports is the truck crane, then the scow / trawl with its counterweights, then after unloading and installing the counterweights, the scow / trawl will free up space for the machine with the equipment. This installation takes on average 1 - 1.5 hours, depending on the length of the roads and the number of lanes for traffic to the site near the pit.
